Three gables

Friesen, Francis (1921-2006)

Father Francis Friesen was the parish priest of Seaford Town from 1970 to 1986. Lured by promises, numerous families from Lower Saxony and Westphalia emigrated to Jamaica in the 1930s, especially many to Seaford Town in the west of the island. The fate of the emigrants never left Dutch Friesen. For thirty years, until his almost total blindness, he devoted himself to researching the origins of his parishioners. The languages of the research material are English and German. Only a few notes are written in Dutch.
