20 years of PAYT and intensive sorting schemes for MSW in Sommacampagna (Italy)

For our collegues and friends involved in promoting recycling, separate collection and circular economy schemes for MSW management, and event that summarises 20 years of separate collection and recycling in Italy

The Municipality of Sommacampagna is listed among the pioneers in introducing kerbside collection of recyclables including foodwaste and in applying PAYT (pay as you throw) charges in Italy. The Municipality started foodwaste collection in 1997 and applied PAYT charges in 1998. I am honoured to have supported in the past and to be involved in this event for one of Italy's best-performing municipality in MSW management.

For those who want to practise the Italian wording about MSW management, do like a good drink (the beautifull Custoza vineyards are part of Sommacampagna's country-side) and enjoy the mild autumn days at the Lake of Garda or in the City of Verona... well, that's your opportunity!
